I'm back to blogland , did you miss me?

Well after a long break, like really long this time almost 5 months , I'm back to blogland with a little surprise

Yup, we are pregnant and it wasn't that easy for the past 5 months :) It is my first pregnancy so I didn't know that morning sickness is the worst, they should call it "all day sickness" :). But thanks God I'm feeling so much better now so that is why I'm back to blogging ...For the past 5 months I didn't check my blog, I didn't even read any of my favorite design blogs, the only thing I googled was : how to get rid if heartburn, severe pain in my chest, how to stop morning sickness :D

So stay tuned I have alot of posts coming soon and I'm hoping you will like them.I really miss you and miss your comment guys :)

- Model Homes Tour Nb 2

I know I'm so late to write this post, the first home tour was written almost 2 months now :) But I've been busy latley and today I'm so sick but I missed blogland alot and you specially and I couldnt wait anymore to write this post.So forgive me if my post's quality is not up to par.

So if you remember the first model home was dark wood color with an orange accent color, this one is more fun color : Fuschia and Green. So here you go, again the pictures are taking by my phone camera

Living room and Kitchen are white so fresh and clean

I liked the vertical stripes back splash

The down stairs guest bedroom, it was really small

Upstairs the loft , with a vibrant color rug. This is of course my favorite room with the xo tray

the second bedroom , and it was smaller than the downstairs one... and I couldn't notice the uncomfortable headboard!!!!

a cute DIY board in the corridor between the bedrooms

The master bedroom, I loved the pom pom throw and the white beadboard

So how about you... what did you like the most in this home number 2 tour?
which one the model home you like the most?
home number 1 or home number 2?
I would like to hear your thoughts

- Not your usual Stuffed Strawberries- And A Winner

Hi all, before I announce the winner of the Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway I want to share with you my version of Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries.

My husband and I were invited to a dinner party last night. The host asked me to bring some kind of dessert. However, I was super busy so  I had to pull a rabbit from the hat, but instead I pulled some ricotta cheese, honey, and a lot of strawberries from the fridge. This easy and simple recipes made me look like the greatest chef in the world (well I’d like to think so.) So here is the secret:
You will need only  4 Ingredients: Strawberries of course, Ricotta Cheese, Grounded Pistachios, and Honey.
  • Get as many strawberries as you want and core them with a thin apple peeler or any other similar kitchen tool. I used a tool that I usually use to core zucchinis.
  • Use your judgments to fill the cored strawberries with the enough amount of Ricotta Cheese.
  • Dip them in grounded pistachios .
  • I used honey as my sweetener but any other syrup would taste as good as well.
You are done. Yes, your are done. Look at these delicious photos if you don’t believe me.

and here is me so happy with my accomplishment :)

And now the winner for the Amazing Giveaway is :

Becca @ the sassy penguin

- Filoli Tour and a Winner

Hello all. Before I announce the name of the winner of the $30 gift card from Fashion to Figure, I want to  share with you some picture of the Filoli Gardens in The Bay Area.

My friend was visiting from Lebanon so my husband gave me the idea of  showing her Filoli. Before I share with you my favorite pictures that I've taken during the trip, I want to give a brief introduction about these beautiful gardens.

"Located 30 miles south of San Francisco, Filoli is an historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century. Whether enjoying its beauty or pursuing its educational opportunities, we invite you to explore this cherished community resource." (Source:

Here are the pictures. Oh, BTW the winners name is announced at the bottom. Well, I guess you have to scroll down all my photos :p

- Cutting Edge Stencils- Giveaway

Cutting Edge Stencils is an emerging company that offers a great variety of adorable stencils. I've been "stalking" this company on every blog in the hopes of winning a giveaway. I, however, with my luck was simply dreaming. Now to my surprise, when I opened my email last week I saw an email from guess who? you guessed it: "Cutting Edge Stencils" approached me so I can review one of their products and offer a giveaway. My answer was "OH, yah baby...with PLEASURE."

The following are some of the main reasons I would use a Cutting Edge Stencil on my walls rather than wallpaper:

1- Stencils are cheaper.
2- They are easier to apply.
3- You can change styles whenever you feel like it.
4- We are renting and it is a well worth investment to make my rental a fabulous dwelling space.
5- You can customize the color.
6- Finally, Cutting Edge Stencils offer AMAZING designs.

Here are few of my favorite designs:

And I found this video tutorial to help me with my first stenciling project.

As for the giveaway, I am quoting the Cutting Edge Stencils' agent: "we offer one stencil of any value up to $50 as a prize for the winner (US residents only please)– they can choose their favorite from our site – and we’ll ship it for free."

Mandatory entries: (leave one comment for both)

- Visit Cutting Edge Stencils and tell me which is your favorite stencil.
- Follow my blog via Google friend connect or Linky tools.

Extra Entries: ( leave one comment for each entry)

- Facebook, Tweet, Blog about this giveaway
- "Like" cutting edge stencils and my champagne taste on Facebook
-"Follow" cutting edge stencils and my champagne taste on Pinterest

And because the stencils on the Cutting Edge Stencils are amazing, I couldn't make up my mind. I asked the nice lady to surprise me and send me a design of her choice (I know I will like anything she sends as all designs are adorable.)

DDD Oh C'mon Ladies Im not that naughty ;)

I am proud today to have Taryn from Design Dining & Diapers to be my featured guest post. As you can tell by her blog's name that Taryn is not only a wonderful designer but a super mom as well. Please take a minute to visit her remarkable blog and read about the amazing designs she did for Baby E 's first birthday party.

Hello! I'm Taryn from Design, Dining + Diapers and I'm so honored to be visiting Champagne Taste today!! I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, 12 month old baby girl and our spunky Golden Retriever. When I'm not busy being a mom or part-time PR/Marketing freelancer, you can find me blogging about DIY home decor, crafts, sewing projects, and allergy friendly foods!
Like Rasha, I'm always trying to achieve 'Champagne Taste' on a 'Beer Budget'. I go out of my way to complete a project for a little as possible! It's one big challenge to me and there is nothing I love more than a challenge and throw a little bit of creativity in the mix and I'm in heaven.
Today, I'm sharing a few projects I've completed for pennies, if not less! Hopefully this will inspire you to check out your local thrift stores, dollar stores and discover new possibilities with items already in your home.
DIY chair makeoverFirst up are these worn chairs I purchased at the Goodwill for...$1.30! Can you believe it? After a few coats of paint and new upholstery, they look good as new! (Click here for the full tutorial)
Tea Stained Coffee Filter Wreath
Next up is this tea-stained coffee filter wreath I made for my daughter's 1st birthday party. The whole wreath only cost me $4.99! The wreath was $2.99 at Hobby Lobby, I purchased a pack of 130 coffee filters and the ribbon at the dollar store and used tea and jewels I already owned. (Click here for the full tutorial)
button magnets
And for those of you who have large button collections, here is one for you! I inherited a huge button collection from my great-grandma (and grandma who doesn't sew any more). The buttons are just gorgeous and I wanted to find a way to display them in my home. I picked up a pack of magnets and made these decorative button magnets for our fridge! (Click here for the full tutorial)
Besides DIY and craft projects, I also post allergy friendly recipes like these gluten-free blueberry muffins!
blueberry muffins, gluten-free
To see more of my projects you can visit me on Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest! Please come by and say hi, I would love to see what you have been working on too!
Now before you throw away your old buttons or chairs, think twice! You never know what they could become :)
Thanks to Rasha for having me over today! It's been a honor!

- Guest post # 1

I have a nice surprise for everyone , I'm gonna start having guest posts every week ( hopefully every week) first I wanna thank Carrie from  lovelyetc  for writing this post on such a short notice. Her blog is full of amazing projects make sure you go visit her after you read this amazing post :)

Hello My Champagne Taste Readers!  I’m Carrie from Lovely Etc. It is such a pleasure to be joining you here on my new friend Rasha’s site. Rasha has really great style and I have been having a great time getting to know her.
I am all about making my home unique and meaningful – without spending much actual money to do so.  So I thought I would share some of my favorite tips to make that happen.
1. It is almost never too far gone!
I love searching yard sales and thrift stores for great vintage finds and various other junk. Now, to be honest, even what I call great finds, most other people would call junk. But there is almost nothing that can’t be turned into something amazing.
For example, this sad, forlorn cabinet.  Loose glass, peeling veneer, no back – it wasn’t too pretty to begin with.
Some repairs and a bit of paint and it no longer seemed ready for the trash at all.

- Glaming Up a Boring Table Lamp

The last few weeks were hectic. I was preparing the Spring Summer Collection for my clients back home. I don't know if I've mentioned before but I run an online fashion boutique for clients who are mainly in Lebanon, Africa and Canada. In addition to my full time job, DIYing is a hobby and not my business :)

Having said that this justifies why I haven't tackle any major furniture renovation. To stay in the loop I would like to share some of my old and simple projects.

Here is how to Glam up a boring Lamp: Simply by adding some bling bling. I bought a basic black table lamp from Homegoods, I wanted one with hanging crystals, but at that time I couldn't find any black lamp with black crystal cheaper than $250. I bought black crystals from ebay and attached them to my boring lamp :) and here are the after pictures

I got Ms Smartie Pants award :)

Do you ever think about that day in first grade when the teacher stamps that little yellow bight star on your hand? Take that feeling, multiply it by a hundred and you may understand my feeling when Laura, from Ms Smartie Pants, recognized me with an award. Today I am "Ms Smatie Pants."

I want to thank Laura for this award. She gave it to for my "fresh" style presented in my project "Drawers to Shleves." In addition to being honored by this award, Laura made my day for giving me the first award in her new program "Ms Smartie Pants Awards." Laura states the following:
"So, the very first award goes to Rasha from My Champagne Taste. I just found her blog and she has a young, fresh, eclectic style." For more info about the award that I received and about Laura's program, please visit her blog and make sure you check out her baby nursery.

- Turquoise Living and Dining Room

I wanted to reveal my Living and dining area long time ago, but I wasn't sure if I should just add the pictures to the Home Tour page or I just write a special post about them. So I decided I will write a post about them and I can link up to the Home Tour Page... I'm a bit lost in the how to organize my blog :)
So let me stop talking and  show you the before and after pictures of my Living and Dining room:

Like always not a very before picture , this picture is taken after we painted the walls and added some furniture

The Curio Cabinet, before I frosted the glass.
After I painted the brick a crisp clean white

My brownish ugly brassy fire place

And here are the After pictures...WARNING alot of pictures ahead

my color scheme : Off white, Dark Grey, Turquoise and some silver and mirrored accent pieces
You can see here and in the below picture: the glass of the curio cabinets frosted. Yay I can hide my mess lol.
As for the curtains, They are made by me :) I didn't know how to sew and I didn't even have a sewing machine but I wanted a damask pattern with some shimmery fabric, it turned out that I can never find such a thing with a reasonable price so I bought the sewing machine at Target was on sale and had to experiment with it...I think one day I might add lining to them ( I found out about lining after I finished sewing so hopefully one day I will add it lol)

- From Drawers to Shelves

I've been seeing all the rustic wood look over blogland and I've been drooling. From reclaimed wood to old doors to all those palettes as coffee tables all of these are my favorites .I want that look, I really want that look but of course I don't know how to use a jigsaw :(
Finally I got an idea ...I have a small wooden cabinet sitting in  my garage for about 7 months now. It was collecting dust. I love its rustic feel but I didn't have any use of it in my home. I pulled its drawers and hung them as shelves. I needed an extra storage in my kitchen and it was the best solution to cover that empty wall of my kitchen.

This is the before picture of the cabinet

One picture of my kitchen table/office :)

And here is how it looks now:

I mentioned before in later posts that I wanted to have 4 different chairs, paint them one color and use the same fabric to upholster them but after I stained and upholstered this bench ( you can check it out here)  I fell in love with it and just used 2 different chairs instead. You can see these chairs here and here .
